De Montfort University – Vijay Patel Building

The Vijay Patel Building at De Montfort University was a £42,000,000 redevelopment of the Fletcher Building for the Arts & Design centre in Leicester completed to BREAAM Excellent certification with Balfour Beatty. The project consisted of the refurbishment of the “Clasp” and the 15 storey tower & the new build “Pod” & succesfully integrated a BIM model to ensure a smooth integration. 

CG Reynolds undertook the SFS package to the exterior of the new build, along with the internal partitions & ceilings. With a semi-industrial theme introduced throughout exposed soffits and large open spaces could have caused practicality issues. Large Class A sound obsorbtion Armstrong Optima L Canopies were installed by CG Reynolds to ensure that acoustics were not compromised over aesthetics.
