On the back of the C G Reynolds reputation to take on large contracts and deliver the works on target, within budget and to a high standard – CGR were awarded the prestigious Resorts World contract to complete the dry-lining works to the Shell & Core of Levels 1 to the Level 2 mezzanine.
Sitting on Pendigo Lake at the National Exhibition Centre, Resorts World was constructed to revitilise the region with its diverse and extensive retail, entertainment and leisure offer. The 84,000m2 mixed-use landmark includes the UK’s largest casino, an 11 screen cinema complex, 50 designer outlets, a 4-Star boutique hotel, spa, restaurants and a conference and banqueting centre.
Working collaboratively with British Gypsum, Benoy and the Galliford Try design teams; CG Reynolds completed the works on the high specification bespoke ceilings and wall types of the Conference Centre, Genting Casino and Cineworld Cinema complex as well as the ancillary units and Back of House areas on the same floors.
Using British Gypsums newest products and innovation we were able to construct over 4000m2 of mass barrier ceilings incorporating 3 layers of the dense Soundbloc F plasterboard and 1,000m2 of 15m high partition wall including an IMAX Cinema where the walls required a sound rating of over 80dB incorporating 3 layers of metal stud work, 6 layers of insulation and 11 layers of plasterboards.
